Wags is a 3 year old happy black Labrador / Australian Shepherd mix. Wags is very friendly with people and gets along with other dogs. People that have known Wags have described him as always happy & in a great mood, beautiful & lively, full of energy & playful. Wags is attentive and knows some basic commands. He loves to go for walks and play ball. He is housebroken and waiting for a new home with his forever family.
Wags‘ story: Wags was found shortly after Katrina in the English Turn section of New Orleans at the estimated age of 3 mths. The family that rescued him named him Spyder and fostered him for several months. Spyder had temporary responsibility of keeping 2 boys (ages 9 & 11) busy and out of mom’s hair until the family could no longer keep him. He was turned over to the LA SPCA where he was held for 4 mths. Then he was transferred to shelter of Animal Rescue New Orleans where he spent many more months. He was renamed Wagner during his stay at ARNO. In June of 2007, Wagner was adopted out to a lady in Houston who kept him for 8 mths and turned him into the SPCA. At that time, a local ARNO volunteer pulled him from the SPCA, renamed him Wags, and enrolled him in the Paws program.
Wags is neutered, micro chipped, current on vacs, heartworm negative and on preventative. He is available for adoption from Paws Animal Rescue. The adoption fee is $125. You may contact the foster parent directly at lorymae@msn.com.
