Stairway To Heaven by Jim WarrenThe Rainbow Bridge
by Paul C. Dahm

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy  and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.

Suddenly, he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend  finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Garfield
This is Garfield who was born 6/30/1994 and died 12/21/2008. He really did look like Garfield. His former owners moved away and forgot to take him with them. He waited for them to come back and get him but they never did. We found him wandering and hungry. He remained in foster care for the rest of his life. Garfield was very docile and got along with other cats. He was very affectionate and would beg to be loved on. Garfield was also very vocal and if you didn't know better it sounded like he would say "I Love You!" We will always love him. He is now in his "forever" home with God.

Apache
Born 6/15/1999 - Died 9/20/2007 Apache was rescued from a collector after spending over 6 years confined in a small rabbit hutch. Because of his living conditions he suffered with muscle atrophy and numerous other ailments, but after 3 months in a home environment overcame it to where he was finally running, playing and jumping onto the sofa. Apache became a social butterfly and was one of the sweetest, loving boys I have ever known. He had the LOUDEST PURR of any cat I have every heard and loved to sleep with you. It was very difficult dealing with his death because of what all he had endured in his life previous to being rescued. I still miss him dearly but I will never forget him or his kind sweet face.

Sherwood
Sherwood absolutely loved people. All he ever wanted was to be held and kissed on. Sherwood was playful and curious. Unfortunately, Sherwood was an outside cat before he was taken into rescue. Sherwood was euthanized 02/27/07 due to kidney failure. The most likely explanation is he must have eaten recalled food prior to being rescued which most probably caused kidney failure. Please for the safety of ALL CATS don't let Sherwood's death be in vain.

Jasmine
Jasmine was rescued from the Galveston County Shelter. She had been a breeder dog living in a cage. Her paws where widely spread apart and her teeth where indented from chewing on a wire cage. She also had stage three heartworms. For two years she was given continuous medical care and free run of the house and yard at her foster home. She was greatly loved by her foster mom. Please think about Jasmine before you buy a pure-breed dog from a breeder.

Daisy
Daisy was a very sweet girl. She was pulled from a kill-only shelter. Daisy was very healthy and looking forward to getting a home of her own. She was gorgeous and very loving. We took her to be spayed at Animal Alliance in La Marque trusting that they would take care of her. She died that day on the floor of their clinic with no vet in attendance (internal bleeding). It was a very sad day for all of us. We miss Daisy. She was very much loved by her foster family.
